Network Security Administrator

Title:                        Network Security Administrator
Department:           Information Technology
Reports To:             Senior Vice President of Information Technology          

Purpose: Network Security Administrator is responsible for the operation and security related to network, endpoint, and servers services according to company policies and procedures. Manages, monitors, and troubleshoots server and workstation hardware, software, documentation of information technology systems, and related tasks.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities: 

Mentoring Network Technician Staff:
Actively coach and develop technical staff to optimal levels of performance.  (5%)

Maintain and Administer Network Security:
Responsible for testing and screening security software and services, and security breaches or intrusions.

Responsible for risk assessment, identify vulnerabilities, and perform and plan remediation solutions and strategy. Identify current and emerging technology issues or threats including security trends and vulnerability threats. Utilizing threat intelligence to identify indicators of compromise. 

Research, coordinate, and implement new security solutions with vendors to improve and secure company.  (60%)

Maintain and Administer Network Infrastructure:
Responsible for monitoring the health and activities of network equipment including but not limited to firewall, routers, switches and network related equipment.  (25%)

Service and Support:
Provide and resolve any escalated user support issues. Perform troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repairs/fixes for network hardware and software related problems. (5%)

Build Strong Communities:
Serve in a leadership position of at least one community organization, staff two bank-sponsored events, and represent West Bank by attending at least one dinner, luncheon or reception. (5%)

Qualifications (Include Education and Experience):

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related degree/certification and two years of work experience
  • Minimum of five years of experience in Network/System administration or Network Security Analyst/Engineer can substitute for college degree or equivalent education/certification
  • Knowledgeable in the following, but not limited to, Endpoint and Network detection and response (EDR and NDR), SIEM solutions, Privilege access management (PAM), Application whitelisting, Nextgen firewalls, MITRE ATT&CK and NIST Cybersecurity frameworks
  • Knowledge of Microsoft desktop and server operating systems, Office365, Azure, and Active Directory, and networking protocols.
  • High level analysis, troubleshooting and technical skills required.
