Purpose: Provide financial solutions for new and existing customers. Pursue relationship banking opportunities by assessing customer needs and offering applicable West Bank products and services. Open accounts for new and existing customers of the Bank. Actively service and maintain customer accounts. Solicit, originate, process and close deposit accounts, in house consumer loans as well as secondary market mortgage loans. Perform duties and special projects at the direction of the Central Iowa Retail Manager.
Build Strong Relationships as you provide and help create an outstanding service experience for all new and prospective customers in the following functions:
Open Personal and Business Accounts for New and Existing Customers: Provide financial solutions for prospective and existing customers. Develop and grow relationship banking by assessing needs and offering appropriate West Bank products and services. Open new personal and business deposit accounts. Complete on-boarding process. Work with commercial bankers as they refer new and existing business relationships, assisting in identifying products and services to expand the retail deposit accounts. (45%)Â
Actively Service, Maintain, Retain, and Grow Customer Accounts. Maintain a portfolio of customers and be their main banking contact. Resolve basic customer service issues, unauthorized purchases, on-line banking help, debit cards, account balancing, and various account questions. Assist with walk-in customer traffic as needed or when directed by the Central Iowa Retail Manager. Answer customer calls related to product questions, issues, rates, etc. Ask discovery questions during service transactions. Make proactive calls with the purpose of expanding customer relationships to drive new deposits. Monitor and review customer account status. (30%)
Consumer Lending: The primary consumer lender for the DM retail team, handling the majority of the complex loan transactions. Interview loan applicants and work through the consumer loan process with borrowers. Assist commercial banking team with consumer loans for their customers. Provide information and referrals to customers seeking other services. (20%)
Build Strong Communities: Â Participate in community events, including serving in a leadership position of at least one community organization, staffing at least two events (art festivals, community celebrations, etc.), hosting at least one customer at an outside event, representing West Bank as requested by attending at least one luncheon, dinner, or reception, and participating in at least two community festivals (parades, bank-sponsored outreach events, etc.) per year. (5%)Â Â Â
Professional Communication: Utilize professional and effective verbal and non-verbal communication to forge/enhance relationships with team members and customers. Communication should be clear, professional, respectful to others, and aligned with West Bank’s mission to build strong relationship, build strong communities and build upon our strong reputation. Team members should embrace candor with an appropriate tone to participate in the success of the department and organization.
Qualifications (Include Education and Experience): BA with an emphasis in Business or Finance preferred or 8+ years of retail banking sales and lending experience with NMLS. Miscellaneous banking and leadership classes. Computer experience (MS Word, Excel, Outlook), Banking related systems experience helpful. Great customer service skills, good problem solver, strong communication skills, ability to work independently.
