Home » Free Summer Series in West Des Moines: Moonlit Movies and Summer Sundaze
Looking for a fun and safe way to return to normal? West Bank is the presenting sponsor for two new outdoor summer series at the Jamie Hurd Amphitheater in West Des Moines, IA: Moonlit Movies and Summer Sundaze. Organized by the City of West Des Moines Parks & Recreation and supported by West Bank, both series are free to attend and will continue throughout July.
“West Bank is proud to support the City of West Des Moines 2021 summer series,” said Jill Thompson Hansen, Senior Vice President at West Bank and Executive Director of the West Bancorporation Foundation. “We know that without the support of the private sector it would be impossible for the arts to be accessible to all, and our communities would be negatively impacted as a result.”
Each Friday in July, activities will begin about an hour before sunset followed by the Moonlit Movie showing. Return on Sundays at 5:30 p.m. for the Summer Sundaze program, a relaxing concert series featuring local bands. Food can be purchased from local food trucks, and lawn games will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis at the events.
“We’ve missed the joy that comes from our communities when we gather for a shared experience,” said Dave Nelson, Chairman and CEO of West Bank. “We encourage anyone searching for family friendly activities this summer to come enjoy the new series.”
