Waukee Branch / South Branch

Assistant Branch Manager

We are currently hiring Assistant Branch Managers for our Waukee and South Branch locations.

Purpose: Actively coach, motivate, and develop teller team to optimal levels of performance that meet and/or exceed scorecard objectives. Assist the Branch Manager in the overall management of the branch, ensuring efficiency and compliance with operations and security policies, and instilling a commitment to providing outstanding service to each and every bank customer.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Build Strong Relationships as you provide and help create an outstanding service experience for all new and prospective customers in the area of Business/Customer Development:

Business Development: Assess our customers’ initial and on-going banking needs and provide products and service solutions that meet those needs. Open and close accounts, assist in less complex consumer loan applications. Make referrals to other lines of business (Trust, Commercial). Maintain and monitor all supporting reports and documentation. Solve problems with customer accounts.

Teller Supervision: Actively coach, motivate and develop Tellers to optimal levels of performance that meet and/or exceed scorecard objectives. Perform required audits and reports in accordance with established procedures, approve checks and deposits. Ensure all duties are completed accurately and on time, including but not limited to SCO balancing, cash vault balancing, coin machine balancing and coin wrapping, with adherence to Teller Department Audit Controls and Teller Policies and Procedures (including MIL, BSA, OFAC, and Reg. CC) and ensuring referral standards are met. Provide effective management of disciplinary issues in cooperation with the Teller Manager. In consultation with Branch Manager and Teller Manager, conduct performance reviews for tellers. Build and maintain staffing schedule for tellers.

Management: Assist in the daily management of the Branch, ensuring operational efficiency and compliance with bank and industry regulations, a commitment to high levels of customer service, and meeting and/or exceeding scorecard objectives. Responsible for daily operations of the teller line, helping to ensure West Bank customers receive an outstanding service experience with each and every transaction and all teller equipment and necessary facility repairs are reported in a timely manner for service. Fill in Teller and other Branch functions as needed, open/close safe deposit boxes, open/close Branch. Saturday banker rotation.

Build Strong Communities: Participate in community events, including serving in a leadership position of at least one community organization, staffing at least two events (art festivals, community celebrations, etc.), hosting at least one customer at an outside event, representing West Bank as requested by attending at least one luncheon, dinner, or reception, and participating in at least two community festivals (parades, bank-sponsored outreach events, etc.) per year.

Qualifications (Include Education and Experience): Associates or Bachelors Degree in Business or Finance preferred. Teller or other banking experience required; retail bank supervisory experience a plus. Computer experience (MS Word, Excel, Outlook), Banking related systems experience helpful. Great customer service skills, good problem solver, strong communication and coaching skills. Excellent math skills. Community involvement a plus.
