This spring, West Bank will be hosting a free, secure Shred Day on Saturday, April 25, 2026, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., or until the mobile shred trucks are full.
Two mobile shred units will be set up at the West Bank Headquarters located at 3330 Westown Parkway in West Des Moines, Iowa 50266. Shredding will stop once the mobile trucks are full.
Important limit for 2026: Each vehicle may bring up to 2 containers, 25 pounds per container.
Safely disposing of documents containing personal information is one of the easiest ways to protect yourself from identity theft. As a local bank, we are committed to helping and serving our community by providing a Shred Day this spring.
Simply gather your documents and bring them to the Headquarters. West Bankers will be on hand to unload your materials and place them into secure shred bins.
Generally speaking, you should shred anything that has personal information on it such as bank statements, bills, old tax and medical documents, and anything else with personally identifying information. Please do not bring cardboard, plastics, hazardous materials, or computers.
You do not need to remove staples, paper clips, or rubber bands. Each vehicle is limited to two containers, weighing no more than 25 pounds each. Shredding will end once the mobile trucks are full.
